Duties & Responsibilities:
This position presents an exceptional opportunity to join a professional team tasked with overseeing exchanges, clearing houses, and automated trading services in areas such as trading, clearing, risk management, and system infrastructure. The team also actively participates in regulatory policy initiatives designed to foster the ongoing development of Hong Kong’s financial market.
The role is offered on a temporary basis as a one-year contract. Depending on job availability and satisfactory performance, candidates may be considered for a contract extension or transition to a permanent position, if available, upon completion of the initial contract.
The primary responsibility of this position involves contributing to the development and enhancement of policies governing, amongst others, exchange-traded products related work including market making and short selling activities, and the automated trading services (ATS) related work , as well as the ongoing monitoring of their activities. Specific duties include reviewing applications for ATS, engaging with, and monitoring ATS providers, reviewing and analysing relevant regular operational and financial reports.
Requirements:
Applicants must hold a university degree in Law, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or other relevant disciplines, coupled with at least ten years of solid and relevant experience within the securities and futures industry or regulatory bodies. A comprehensive understanding and sound knowledge of the operational and regulatory frameworks of securities and derivatives markets, exchange-traded products, market making and short selling rules in Hong Kong or other major markets is required. Candidates with less experience may be considered as Manager.
Candidates must demonstrate exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese is mandatory.
