Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible for (i) overall planning, evaluation, implementation and management of the server virtualization infrastructure and Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI), including SAN storage and SAN switches; (ii) capacity/performance planning, life cycle control/management of virtualisation hardware, software and virtual machines; (iii) development and management of the campus-wide IoT infrastructure; (iv) preparing and maintaining the backup policies for virtual machines; (v) overseeing miscellaneous network supporting systems including DNS system, mail gateways, network and server monitoring tools, etc.; (vi) working with other ITSC teams in the development and management of on-campus and off-campus backup and recovery systems; (vii) working with other ITSC teams in the development and management of the container and orchestration infrastructure; and (viii) other tasks as assigned by supervisors. The appointee is also required to work in shifts and irregular hours.
Requirements
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science; Information Technology, Information Engineering or equivalent; preferably a higher degree in relevant disciplines; (ii) at least 8 years of relevant IT experience, with preferably 3 years in management or a similar role; (iii) strong technical skill and solid hands-on experience with enterprise-grade virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Sangfor) and related infrastructure components (hyperconverged infrastructure, servers, storage, networking); (iv) solid experience in IoT infrastructure, container technologies and backup and recovery systems (covering hardware, software and applications); (v) strong technical knowledge of common TCP/IP protocols (e.g. SMTP, LDAP, DNS, and DHCP) and operating systems (Linux and Windows); (vi) knowledge of information security, business continuity, and risk management; (vii) strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines; (viii) good customer service attitude and customer service experience; and (ix) excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
