Purpose of the role:

The Compliance Advisor plays a critical role within the Central Compliance Team, ensuring the organization’s adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.

This position is responsible for providing expert guidance on licensing matters, regulatory liaison, regulatory reporting and implementing effective compliance programs to mitigate risks and promote a culture of integrity. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with business units, senior management, and regulatory bodies to monitor compliance frameworks, address regulatory changes, and support strategic decision-making. This role demands strong analytical skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to influence and drive compliance initiatives across the enterprise.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide compliance advice to business units covering corporate functions
  • Formulate and maintain regulatory compliance related policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and deliver compliance training to relevant Bank’s staff
  • Assist in disseminating the latest regulatory requirements to the relevant business or functional units and follow-up with the respective units on the respective implementation plan
  • Handle and manage breach/incident reporting to the regulators
  • Maintain oversight on local and overseas subsidiaries
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating responses to regulatory inquiries
  • Assist in reporting any compliance related issues to management
  • Handle other ad-hoc tasks assigned by the respective team head or Head of Central Compliance

What we are looking for:

  • A degree in Law, Finance, or a related field, with at least 3 - 5 years of experience in compliance, audit and related fields
  • Knowledge in banking products, service, and operations
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and industry trends
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and communicate effectively
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a strong commitment to regulatory excellence and compliance
