HKTE Seminar Highlights: Unlocking the Job Market: Employment and Innovation Opportunities in Hong Kong's Cultural and Creative Industries Seminar

Exploring emerging trends, technology integrations, and cross-disciplinary career pathways shaping the city's creative economy, Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE)’s recent seminar was themed “Unlocking the Job Market: Employment and Innovation Opportunities in Hong Kong's Cultural and Creative Industries”.

It brought together industry leaders including Prof Thomas CC Wong, Mr Samuel Lam, and Mr Rock Wu, who had some key takeaways:

  • Actionable advice on creating distinctive value in Hong Kong by serving as "Cultural Navigators" that connect Chinese Mainland content with overseas markets across high-growth areas such as IP licensing services. They also emphasised the importance of creating a unique personal label to stand out across different cultural and commercial contexts.
  • How talent can leverage Hong Kong’s unique advantages and emerging technologies, using AI as an “inspiration amplifier” while actively exploring new opportunities in the low-altitude economy, and capturing opportunities in drone shows, night tourism, and ESG initiatives.
  • Practical ways to commercialise local cultural IPs under a "culture + technology + business" model, combining visual storytelling with cutting-edge tech like glasses-free 3D and digital humans, while emphasising the growing demand for multi-disciplinary talent in the AI era.

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, moderated by Ms Wynn Kong, where guest speakers exchanged insights and encouraged participants to seize cross-border opportunities for long-term development in Hong Kong.
