Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) recently hosted the themed seminar "Unlocking the Job Market - Hong Kong's Evolving Career Landscape in the AI Era", exploring how AI is reshaping Hong Kong's labour market.

In his keynote, Mr David Siew, Head of People Services, Tax, Hong Kong SAR at KPMG China, shared the key trends impacting the manpower, covering strategic manpower planning, the acceleration of AI, the need for upskilling, talent retention, and benefits. He noted that the proportion of companies widely deploying AI applications has risen from 8% in 2025 to 24% in 2026, and advised talent to keep an eye on how roles are changing and upgrade their skills early.

Mr Siew also moderated a panel discussion featuring HR leaders, including Ms Jenny Chiu, Executive Director and Head of Corporate Services at New World Development, Ms Natellie Sun, Managing Director of the Greater China and SEA Region at Randstad, and Mr Dicky Yuen, Director at Venturenix LAB. The three speakers discussed how employers are integrating AI into their daily operations, strengthening employee pipelines, and developing reskilling pathways for AI-literate manpower.
