Chief Engineers (Maritime) is the in-charge of engine room and must ensure that all maintenance works are efficiently completed.

Minimum Requirements

A higher diploma in mechanical (marine) engineering or above is usually required
Relevant certificates recognised by ocean going sector and/ or river trade sector; Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1
24 months of sea-time experience after attaining Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 2
