Position Description

We require a high caliber individual who will report directly to the Head of Product Impact and Innovation and be responsible for actively helping to develop new research ideas and products. The product impact and innovation function seeks to boost the level of quality, insight and differentiation in CLSA’s research output; look for opportunities to develop new products; and encourage collaboration between analysts and research offices.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Product Impact and Innovation
  • Work with research heads and individual analysts to maintain and enhance the quality, insight and differentiation of our research output
  • Look for opportunities to improve our existing research output
  • Attend the regional morning call and help analysts manage their timing. Seek to boost the call’s efficiency
  • Work with sales and research to identify and develop new products that are insightful, timely and differentiated
  • Support our Recommendation Board process with data
  • Build, maintain and update models to support valuation reviews
  • Prepare material for internal communications about the research product

Requirements

  • Postgraduate or above, preferably in a finance, business, economics, mathematics or economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years relevant work experience in sell-side research, buy-side, accounting or equivalent is a plus
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Willingness to learn by embracing challenges
  • Understanding of financial modelling and strong Excel skills
  • Proven ability to clearly organize, structure, and analyze complex data sets
  • Experience in automating routine data tasks using VBA and/or Python
  • High sense of commercial / economic awareness
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and management skills
  • Excellent and well-structured written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin
