Assistant Manager, Data Centre (DC) Facilities Management

Main Responsibilites

Data Centre (DC) Facilities Management

  • Manage relationships with landlords and facility management vendors to ensure smooth operations and compliance with lease agreements.
  • Assign rack locations and electrical provisioning for IT equipment hosting.
  • Oversee site preparation including console connections, physical network setup, and cabling for servers and storage.

Capacity & Environmental Monitoring

  • Conduct DC capacity planning and monitor rack space utilization and power consumption.
  • Perform regular health checks on DC infrastructure including:
  1. Power systems
  2. Water leakage protection
  3. Temperature and humidity control
  4. Fire protection systems
  5. CCTV and physical security

Policy & Procedure Management (documents from vendor)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain data centre operational procedures and policies.
  • Support and manage audit exercises related to DC operations.

Disaster Recovery (DR) Drill Coordination, Planning & Execution

  • Lead the planning and coordination of the annual Disaster Recovery (DR) drill with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate execution of DR drill activities and ensure adherence to agreed procedures.

Reporting & Follow-Up

  • Prepare and distribute comprehensive DR drill reports for stakeholder review and sign-off.
  • Track and resolve issues identified during the DR drill until closure.

Documentation

  • Maintain and update DR plans for all platforms.
  • Document site recovery procedures and invocation processes.

System Test & Development Backup (STDB) Drill Coordination, Coordination & Oversight

  • Organize and coordinate the annual STDB drill with all stakeholders.
  • Monitor and follow up on issues identified during the STDB drill until resolution

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in DC facilities management (power, water leakage detection, temperature and humidity control, fire prevention system, CCTV and physical security), DC capacity planning, rack space assignment and power provisioning, DR Drill co-ordination and relationship management with DC landlord
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Prior experience working in the banking industry is preferred.
