Our client is a leading global technology company powered by AI, delivering innovative solutions across multiple markets. With operations spanning international jurisdictions, the company is shaping the future of technology while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and governance. They are seeking a Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support across global operations. This role will involve advising on a wide range of legal matters, including cross-border commercial agreements, intellectual property, data privacy, regulatory compliance, and emerging AI-related legal issues.

Description

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including technology licensing, SaaS, vendor, and partnership contracts across multiple jurisdictions.
• Advise on intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademarks, and licensing strategies globally.
• Provide guidance on international data privacy and cybersecurity compliance.
• Support global regulatory compliance initiatives related to AI and technology-driven products
• Monitor global legal developments in AI, technology law, and data protection to ensure proactive compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, compliance) to enable business objectives while mitigating legal risks.
• Assist with risk management, dispute resolution, and liaise with external counsel in different regions.

Profile

• Qualified solicitor in Hong Kong or another common law jurisdiction; additional international qualifications are a plus.
• 4-6 years PQE, preferably with experience in technology, IP, and cross-border commercial law.
• Strong understanding of global data privacy regulations and technology-related legal frameworks.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills in English; proficiency in Cantonese and Mandarin and/or other languages is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a global context.
• Interest or exposure to AI-related legal issues is highly desirable
