Founded in 1948, Chong Hing Bank is a well-established commercial bank in Hong Kong with a network of more than 40 branches and sub-branches. The Bank became a member of Yuexiu Group, one of the largest state-owned enterprises in Guangzhou, in 2014. In recent years, the Bank has been actively expanding its business in Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China. Responsibilities:

• Technical Solution Architecture Design, lead architecture design for banking systems (e.g., accounts, credit, payments, investments, client channels), data mid-platforms, and cloud platforms.
• Develop technical solutions including microservice decomposition, containerized deployment, and high-availability disaster recovery (e.g., two-site, three-data-center architecture).
• ​​3 Standards & Process Development, Establish bank-wide technical standards (e.g., Microservice Development Standards, Container Deployment Specifications). Customize and implement compliance frameworks (CMMI/ISO 27001), ensuring adherence across R&D processes.
• ​​Technical Solution Review, Evaluate technology selections and architecture designs for major projects regarding compliance, performance, and security. Identify and mitigate technical risks proactively.
• ​​Complex Issue Resolution, lead troubleshooting for critical production incidents (e.g., high-concurrency transaction delays, distributed transaction consistency, payment link disaster recovery).
• Develop emergency response protocols, Emerging Technology Research Investigate blockchain, stablecoin applications, generative AI, and privacy-preserving computing. Deliver feasibility reports and pilot implementation plans.
• ​​Business Collaboration & Vendor Management, Deeply understand business logic (e.g., mobile banking channels, SWIFT/cross-border payments). Coordinate with risk, compliance, and business teams to formulate technology roadmaps. Lead technical evaluations of third-party vendors.
• ​​Technology Governance, Design and oversee IT governance policies and strategic planning.
• ​​Major Production Incident Resolution, Directly manage critical system failure recovery.

Requirements:

• University graduate in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related disciplines
• 8 years or above working experience in system architecture at Banks or Fintech firms. Led 2 or above core banking system implementations (eg. accounts/credit/payments/investments/channels).
• ​​Process Expertise, Mastery of CMMI/DevOps frameworks and compliance implementations (eg. ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
• ​​Architecture Skills, expertise in microservices (Spring Cloud) and cloud-native stacks (Kubernetes). Experience designing systems handling 1M+ TPS.
• ​​Proficiency in development, Java expert-level competency. Optimization expertise in distributed transactions, caching (Redis), and message queues (Kafka).
• ​​Security Knowledge, Familiar with financial security standards (e.g. FIDO authentication). With payment risk control system design experience is preferable.
• ​​Business Acumen, Deep understanding of banking workflows: Customer journey (onboarding to payments to wealth management), Payment clearing (real-time/batch processing). Omnichannel routing integration, hands-on experience in integrating payment channels (eg. UnionPay/SWIFT/third-party gateways).
• ​​Experience of cross-departmental collaboration and project leadership. With proven innovation track record (e.g., AI chatbots, blockchain solutions). Patents or industry awards are advantageous.
