Job Description

The appointee is expected to:

  • Provide strategic HR input & advices to senior management to facilitate the furtherance of YMCAHK’s mission and long term developmental goals
  • Assume a hands-on role in leading & executing existing practices as well as new initiatives in a full spectrum of HR functions i.e. recruitment, compensation & benefits, staff relationship with special focus on strengthening performance management, leadership development, staff counseling and coaching & mentoring key YMCAHK career persons
  • Formulate and execute appropriate HR initiatives and strategies to meet the YMCAHK’s growth plan and changing operational needs
  • Adopt a proactive, partnership approach in driving HR programmes and otherwise provide support to internal customers to help achieve corporate & operational objectives
  • Coach and develop a professional HR team to support the YMCAHK movements and activities
  • Develop human resources, training and development programmes so as to attract, develop and retain talent for making continuous improvement to the YMCAHK

Ideal attributes of candidates:

  • Strong leader and committed team player with good understanding of business and human service operations, solid analytical / problem solving skills
  • Personal integrity, commitment to the Christian mission and values of YMCAHK and strong leadership skills and abilities
  • Degree holder, with a proven record of at least 15 years’ executive experience in HR or management generalists’ positions. Exposure in an NGO / Hospitality industry / Christian organization setting will be a definite advantage
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and language (English & Chinese) skills with the ability to effectively negotiate and influence at all levels
  • Detail-oriented person with high level of energy, enthusiasm, empathy and a passionate interest in human resources issues
