Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for day-to-day supervision, scheduling, and managing all levels of lab staff. Asst. Manager is expected to maintain bench-work skills in all areas.
- Take on laboratory manager’s responsibilities where the Laboratory Manager is absent or as delegated by the Laboratory Manager.
- As signatory to authorize reports.
- Work with the QC Manager to oversee the QC or QAP of the whole Department.
- Co-ordinate of sendout tests to outside laboratories and specialized lab testing.
- Work as a professional medical lab technicians/technologists according to the Code of Practice, SPCM.
- To manage and co-ordinate all departmental documentation both directly and by delegation to department supervisors and other senior staff.
- To arrange lab operation team roster day, night, and weekend shifts.
- To liaise with doctors for result interpretation.
- To co-ordinate all internal staff training schedules.
- To organize staff training program and maintain staff training records.
- To participate in laboratory-wide internal audit program.
Job Requirements
- Professionally qualified with a Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Science.
- Part 1 registration with the HKMLT board.
- Over 5 years of practical experience in different laboratory disciplines e.g. hematology, microbiology, immunology and biochemistry; at least 3 years of relevant experience at a supervisory level (i.e. bench IC).
- Familiar with HOKLAS quality management system.
- Candidate with more experience will be consideration as Manager, Central Laboratory.
