- The Hong Kong office operates as a small regional hub overseeing supply chain activities, managing goods produced by vendor factories in China and Southeast Asia, and coordinating shipments to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Role Purpose
- You will manage all financial and accounting operations of our Hong Kong entity.
- As the sole accounting staff member in the Hong Kong office, this role is both hands‑on and strategic: maintaining daily financial control, coordinating monthly and quarterly closings, preparing management reports, and collaborating closely with our appointed Hong Kong Chartered Accounting Firm for statutory filings and audits.
- This position requires strong technical accounting skills, a disciplined approach to deadlines, and experience managing multi‑currency, cross‑border transactions across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities including accounts payable, receivable, bank reconciliations, and expense control.
- Ensure accurate recording of transactions in line with Hong Kong accounting standards and group procedures.
- Handle multi‑currency entries (HKD, USD, EUR, AED, THB, etc.) and monitor foreign exchange differences.
- Prepare and coordinate monthly and quarterly financial cut‑offs, working closely with external chartered accountants and group finance contacts.
- Provide complete and accurate management reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with Companies Registry, IRD, MPF, and tax regulations.
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors on monthly reviews, annual audits, and statutory submissions.
- Support annual budgets, cost forecasts, and financial planning with management.
- Manage daily cash flow and oversee multi‑currency banking operations, including supplier and inter‑company payments.
Ideal Candidates
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in an international SME or regional office environment.
- Proven experience managing multi‑currency and cross‑border financial operations.
- Familiarity with Hong Kong accounting standards, tax systems, and statutory compliance.
- Strong technical and analytical accounting skills.
- Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Odoo, or equivalent).
- Fluent in English; Cantonese and/or Mandarin proficiency strongly preferred.
- Self‑motivated and able to manage priorities independently while working with a remote management team.
