Whether you’re looking for a new smartphone or a laptop, there’s no shortage of places to shop for electronic goods in Hong Kong. A number of leading chain stores offer an extensive range of goods, including home appliances, TVs and gaming equipment, hair dryers and straighteners as well as massage chairs and foot massagers.
Standout independent retailers include the Mongkok Computer Centre, a three-storey shopping mall that houses around 70 retailers selling everything from PCs to cameras. Just south of it, you’ll find the Sino Centre, which is a great stop-off for gadgets and mobile accessories. While you’re there, be sure to head up to the second and third floors and shop for comics and toys as well.
Need to get your laptop fixed or your phone screen repaired? Head to one of the service shops within 298 Computer Zone located in Wan Chai, where the staff can also assist with software issues.
For good deals on software equipment and computer games, try the Golden Computer Arcade in Sham Shui Po, which is widely regarded locally as a shopper’s paradise for gamers. At this retro-style space, you’ll also find old computers and parts, as well as vintage game consoles.
