Shopping in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a shopper’s paradise, home to countless sleek malls and stand-alone boutiques where you can shop for luxury fashion, accessories, high-end skincare and cosmetics, and much more. As Hong Kong has a duty-free import policy and no VAT or sales tax, luxury goods are cheaper than elsewhere in the region, or indeed globally.
Queen’s Road Central is a good place to start a shopping trip, as there’s a mix of high-end and high-street brands. Also on Queen’s Road, you’ll find the luxe Landmark shopping mall, which houses a well-stocked department store along with many of the world’s most prestigious brands. Over at the ifc mall in Central, you’ll find plenty of designer brands: while you’re here, walk over to the observation wheel for great views over Victoria Harbour. Causeway Bay is also great for shopping: call in at Hysan Place and you’ll find more than 300 shops, including an Apple store.
In Kowloon, Elements is one of the best-stocked malls: shop here for high-end brands or catch a movie at the city’s largest cinema complex. Close by is the West Kowloon Cultural District, where you can take a stroll on the promenade of swing by the museum. Don’t miss, too, Harbour City in Tsim Sha Tsui: at two million square feet, it’s the largest mall in the city with around 450 retail stores, more than 70 restaurants, and the Ocean Terminal Deck, which offers 270-degree panoramas over Victoria Harbour.
