Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) hosted a seminar entitled "Accommodation: Home Safe Series – Hong Kong Residential Property Market & Foreign Domestic Helper Hiring Essentials" today to assist incoming talent in settling into the city.
During the seminar, Ms Zita Chan introduced the procedures for employing foreign domestic helpers and highlighted key considerations when engaging employment agencies. These included verifying agency licences, clarifying service arrangements, and understanding the rights and obligations of employers and employees under the Standard Employment Contract.
Meanwhile, Mr Chan U-Keng shared practical advice on renting a home in Hong Kong, highlighting the importance of appointing licensed estate agents, scrutinising tenancy agreements, verifying landlords’ identities, and avoiding common rental pitfalls through case sharing.
Mr Emerson Ong provided an overview of Hong Kong’s residential property market and outlined 10 essential tips for purchasing properties, including location, proximity to transport networks and universities, and property scarcity.
