Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) hosted a seminar titled “<Living Tips> Home Safe Series: Navigating Scam Prevention, Corruption Prevention Advice and Employment Rights” today to empower incoming talent to safeguard their workplace rights and acquire essential information on fraud prevention.
During the seminar, Ms Alice Yeung, Senior Inspector of Police Anti-Deception Coordination Centre of Hong Kong Police Force, shared the city's latest deception landscape. She provided a comprehensive overview of recent fraud trends, unmasked emerging scam tactics, and highlighted the Hong Kong Police Force’s latest anti-scam measures to help talent stay vigilant against fraudulent activities.
Ms Markie Mak, Senior Community Relations Officer of ICAC, delved into the city's robust culture of workplace integrity. Beyond introducing core anti-corruption statutes and defining what constitutes corruption, she leveraged case studies to demystify ethical workplace standards, guiding talent on how to maintain professional integrity.
Ms Connie Chiu, Labour Officer (Workplace Consultation Promotion) of Labour Department also provided an in-depth breakdown of the Employment Ordinance to ensure talent are fully aware of their legal protections. She illustrated the application of the Ordinance, clarified the specific requirements of a “continuous contract”, as well as outlined the statutory employee rights and benefits.
