Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) today hosted an enlightening seminar, “Unlocking the Job Market: Hong Kong's Gateway to Global E-Commerce,” where industry leaders shared deep insights into cross-border e-commerce development for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Mr. Kenny Cheung, Honorary President of the Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Association, delved into “Challenges and Breakthroughs in the Development of Cross-border E-commerce in Hong Kong.” He highlighted the vast potential in markets across Chinese Mainland and Southeast Asia, and encouraged businesses to leverage cross-border e-commerce platforms, big data analytics, AI computing, and government support to optimise and scale their operations.
Mr. Dustin Li, Technical Director of Hong Kong Quguo Technology, presented on “Independent Websites Empower Hong Kong SMEs to Successfully Expand Overseas.” He provided guidance on building effective independent e-commerce websites, from defining clear market positioning and identifying target audiences to implementing strategies that attract and retain online traffic.
Mr. Jerry Peng, Senior Manager of South China, CN Cross-Border Trade at WorldFirst, Ant International, spoke on “Hong Kong Cross-border E-commerce Payment Solutions.” He shared the mainstream payment methods tailored to diverse industries, enabling businesses to select and implement optimal solutions aligned with their specific cross-border trade requirements.
The seminar wrapped up with an engaging Q&A session moderated by Ms. Mo Chuanchuan, Associate Professor and Distinguished Expert of the China International Electronic Commerce Center, Ministry of Commerce, where speakers addressed questions on scaling e-commerce ventures in Hong Kong.
