Hong Kong Talent Engage recently concluded a seminar titled “Innovation & Technology Prospect: Insight into Hong Kong IT Industry and Career Prospects”, where participants eager to develop their careers in the IT industry heard from experts about their personal journeys and professional insights. This enabled attendees to learn about the challenges and opportunities in the industry in Hong Kong.
“Overview of Hong Kong IT Industry and Opportunities”
Mr Sam Chai, Vice President of the IT Industry Committee of the Hong Kong Quality and Talent Migrants Association, shared a full overview of Hong Kong's IT industry landscape. This included a snapshot of the market size, key products and services, and the latest trends, such as AI applications and the potential of cloud computing. He then addressed the challenges faced by the industry, such as talent shortages and rising costs, and highlighted the vast opportunities created by the Hong Kong Government’s favourable policies and grants.
“Career Tips from IT Experts”
Mr Paul Liu, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Quality and Talent Migrants Association, shared his personal experience of arriving in Hong Kong as a working professional and advancing through various levels of his career. Now a seasoned IT professional, he encouraged incoming talent to adjust their mindset and stay positive to adapt to Hong Kong’s work culture, and integrate into the local community.
The sharing sessions were followed by an in-depth panel discussion hosted by Mr Tommy Cheng, CEO of SNCHK Co., Limited, where participants engaged in meaningful dialogue with the speakers.
