Mr Chris Sun, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, accompanied by Mr Felix Chan, the Director of Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE), and team, officiated at the opening ceremony of HICOOL 2025 Global Entrepreneurs Summit (the Summit) and presented prizes for the Global Entrepreneurship Competition in Beijing.
During the Summit, Mr Sun toured the event, visited the HKTE booth and had meeting with Beijing government officials, guests of the Summit, and participating corporations from Hong Kong to exchange views on talent policies and introduce Hong Kong’s work in attracting talent.
In addition, Mr Sun highlighted at the Summit’s forum that Hong Kong’s ranking in "World Talent Ranking 2025" leapt to fourth globally and topped Asia, reflecting its growing appeal in the global talent market. He expressed strong anticipation for enhanced collaboration between Hong Kong and Beijing, combining Hong Kong's "One Country, Two Systems" principle with the Beijing Capital Circle’s unique strengths, they could create a synergistic effect to establish Hong Kong as an international hub for high-calibre talent.
Following his speech at the seminar, Mr Chan delivered a remarks at the "Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Innovative Cooperation Meeting". He also engaged in in-depth discussions with Summit leaders and fellow guests, and interacted with attendees at the HKTE booth, to help global talent settling in Hong Kong.
