Mr Chris Sun, the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, recently participated via video in the “2026 High-calibre Talent Highland Construction Forum” organised by the Office of the Talent Work Leading Group of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, and delivered the opening remarks. Themed “Embarking on the 15th Five-Year Plan Journey, Gathering Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Talent, Building a Greater Bay Area Highland”, the forum was held in Nansha, Guangzhou.
In his remarks, Mr Sun stated that Hong Kong is fully aligning with the national 15th Five-Year Plan, proactively integrating into the national development blueprint, and striving to develop into an international hub for high-calibre talent while advancing the integrated development of education, technology, and talent. He noted that, with the support of the country and the concerted efforts of cities across the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), the region’s talent hub will undoubtedly reach greater heights and become more firmly established.
Mr Felix Chan, the Director of Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE), also shared at the forum that HKTE had brought together more than 50 leading enterprises to host the Hong Kong · Global Talent & Career Showcase @London, inviting talent to explore diverse development opportunities in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. He further emphasised that HKTE provides comprehensive support services for incoming talent, supporting them to integrate into the city and settle for long-term development.
