HKTE Seminar Highlights: Taxation and MPF Essentials for Entrepreneurs and Talent in Hong Kong

Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) was pleased to host the seminar “Financial Management: Taxation and MPF Essentials for Entrepreneurs and Talent in Hong Kong”, designed to help incoming talent become familiar with the essential aspects of Hong Kong salaries tax and MPF obligations.

Participants heard from three industry experts and learnt about the key compliance requirements for individuals and businesses to navigate the tax landscape confidently. They were also given a full overview of Hong Kong’s MPF scheme and the associated obligations for both business owners and employees.

“Hong Kong Taxation Implications and Compliance Requirements When Talents Relocate to Hong Kong or When a New Business Setup in Hong Kong”
Ms Emily Chan, Partner, and Mr Tony Chan, Manager, People Advisory Services at Ernst & Young Tax Services Limited, shared practical tips for both employees and business owners in Hong Kong. Their presentation covered a range of essential topics, including employer's tax obligation, salaries tax implications of MPF, and an overview of employer's return form and filing timeline.

"MPF Essentials for New Entrepreneurs in Hong Kong”
Mr Eddy Chan, General Manager (External Affairs) at the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, delivered a comprehensive overview of Hong Kong’s MPF scheme. He introduced the eMPF platform, which is fast becoming an essential one-stop tool for MPF management, and explained the various MPF obligations.
