- Have had at least 1 year of relevant professional experience in Hong Kong before the date of application for registration
- Be ordinarily resident in Hong Kong
- Not the subject of an inquiry committee or a disciplinary order, which precludes the subject’s Architect Registration under the Architects Registration Ordinance
- Satisfy the ARB by declaration in writing to be competent to practise as an architect
